March 4 – April 1, 2006
Opening reception: Saturday, March 4th, 6-9 pm

The Jack Hanley Gallery is pleased to present two exhibitions in the San Francisco galleries by Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based artists and brothers Scott and Tyson Reeder.

Scott and Tyson will exhibit new work, including drawing, painting, ceramics and a collaborative video, in the 395 and 389 Valencia Street gallery spaces, respectively.  Scott will be showing action paintings made with mops and brooms, as well as detailed black and white ink drawings, where old men and teddy bears and bananas clutter abstract platforms.  Tyson will be exhibiting new watercolors of weathered buildings, freak portraits, and urban wildlife, including a large tie-dyed poodle. Their collaborative piece, Reflections 2.0, a new 20 minute video, depicts the brothers as old men in the future, making clumsy paintings with potatoes and bricks in between naps and epic daydream sequences.

Tyson’s work has been exhibited at the Black Dragon Society in Los Angeles and at Daniel Reich and Gavin Brown’s Enterprise in New York.  Scott has shown at China Art Objects in Los Angeles, as well as at Daniel Reich in New York.  In 2004 and 2005, the brothers co-curated, the group exhibitions Drunk vs. Stoned and Drunk vs. Stoned 2 in cooperation with Gavin Brown’s enterprise, New York and the General Store, Milwaukee.
