“White”

May 5 – June 3, 2001

opening: Saturday,  May 5th   from 7 – 9pm

Jack Hanley Gallery is pleased to present a show of new work by Norwegian photographer Torbj∅rn R∅dland. R∅dland’s photographs have investigated the idea of natural surroundings-- specifically the idyllic Scandinavian variety--as a “setting.” He explores the many ways in which our affair with culture, and especially irony, skews our relationship with nature. R∅dland has exhibited his work extensively throughout Europe, including at the 1999 Venice Biennale, the Centre Pompidou, and the Rogaland Museum of Fine Arts. He has held solo shows at the Hallwyl Museum in Stockholm, the Galleri Wang in Oslo, and others. Further information is available from the gallery.
